Skatepark
Markham is one of the newest parks finished in the GTA and is quite
enjoyable. The park is located by the GO station and behind the
Markville Mall which means lots of lurkers and creeps chillin at
this park. If you are smart, you will venture out to the park early
to avoid the school kids who inhabit the area. The transitions and
street course flow nicely together but can lead into some high speed
collisions with bikers, bladers or even other skaters and the occasional
scooter kid. The street course is perfect for learning your tricks
on and getting them on lock with a variety of ledges of varied height
and length with some rails thrown and stairs thrown in the mix.
The bowl is nicely poured without too many kinks which makes for
some confidence building carves in the corners and high speed lines
for the more veteran tranny skater.
It is already evident from the skaters at this park that it has
been built properly because the kids are just throwing down and
progressing at a fast rate and are finding new and previously unseen
lines around the park.
I believe a big thank you goes to Brad Hainschwang and his staff
at DBS
Skate Supply for putting in their time and effort to ensure
this park was done properly with essentials for every skater to
enjoy.
