Can anybody shed light on the ground snow conditions in areas like Madoc, Bancroft, Campbellford, Brantford & Brampton?

With the mild winter we're looking to make a weekend trip in March to some of these places but only if we can confirm the parks are skateable.

We're also willing to shovel and sweep so if that's possible by all means shout out.

Thanks.

So, it is Feb. 2, and you are planning a trip in March? Well, my forcast says, why not wait untill your week of travel to ask questions as in - is there snow, is it worth the drive, or will i freeze my balls off. And then hop on trusty old internet and use the weathernetwork.com to see the 7 day forcast.

Asking now is not going to help make a decision, last week - 2 weeks ago I was thinking we might get an outdoor session at a park. You remeber +8 and you thought spring was on it's merry way! And then BAM! -19 without the windchill 3 days later

Better questions would be, any of you locals had any luck in March skating such areas as " list city here", or, If me and a crew were to come to your town with shovels and a blowtorch, who is down for a session, even in the dead of winter?

I used to be stoked about bringing a shovel and a blow-torch to an outdoor session... Fuck! Glad I grew out of that shit!!!

well, actually, the amount of snow pooled at the bottom of deep parts of the parks will give me indication of how much snow will be there weeks later, Sir. By knowing now, and watching the weather, I can make a few assumptions when it comes time to head out, if at all.

ie. If I find out there is two feet at Brantford now, and there is significantly warm weather for even a few days,.. warm and long enough to melt that snow, I'll have an idea that I could probably clear some choice spots out no problem. Flipside being, if there's no warm weather, obviously I'm effed but at least I knew there was 2 feet to begin with.

Also in my experience, asking this question doesn't get a speedy reply. If I were to wait until the week of, it's less likely I'd get any answer in time for it to be helpful.

Asking how it was last March "is not going to help make a decision", as you clearly stated the difference in weather mere days apart, what could possibly make one think that one March will be similar to the next? "It'll be cold." is about as close as one can accurately get.

A better response would be, "nothing a handful o' snow melting temperatures wouldn't cure."

Thank you for your concern and comments.

I'm pushin' 30 and skate anytime, anywhere. I'll be happy on my death bed that I never out grew that shit.

i can understand shoveling out your own park, but driving some where out of town and shoveling? you're crazy. if your planing on going some where in march, just save like 500 and go to florida. it will be way better than brampton park!

I have little interest in visiting Florida for a day. I also enjoy skating in winter... so.
