Hubba Contest
Shred finally had another contest after a few years of hiding and
what a talent show it was. The contest was held on the newly constructed
hubba that few people had even skated yet - just goes to show how
consistent the kids are getting these days. Some skaters endured
2 hours of travel time to show the Toronto boys that there are other
skaters outside of the GTA able to hold it down as well. The Russian
was a big standout from the beginning with his nollie annilation
on the hubba - where did he come from. Blake McKay was skating smooth
with a big grin on face until he slid out and tweaked his knee and
called it a night to enjoy some frosty cold ones. Tomas Morrison
came through with the BS noseblunt and Chris Armstrong with his
nollie noseblunt was a show of pop. Jordan Lake who has been getting
some coverage outside of Oshawa was super smooth and was able to
throw down a inward heelflip 5-0! Insane as well a as a BSflip nosegrind
twice to take the loot away from hometown boy Morgan Smith who landed
trick after trick down the hubba. It was a great event and tons
of fun with a real big turnout. Pizza was engulfed by everyone courtesy
of HAMMER skate shop and no thanks to everyone who rushed Gymbo
for their slice. Big thanks for Gymbo and Mike at Shred Central
for organizing the contest and Chad Albert for getting DLXSF on
board for prizes. I believe everyone went home with a smile on their
face and talk of what insanity went down that night.
